At the closing ceremony on Dec 17, Federica Epifani, a PhD supervisor at the University of Salento, said she appreciated HYIT's efforts in arranging such an enjoyable and informative study tour.

"We believe that cultural heritage is the best way to create a dialogue between two subjects, even though they may be very different," the supervisor said.

The two schools both upheld the idea of protecting and enhancing cultural heritages. They will initiate their first long-term collaboration in the near future, which focuses on tourism along the Grand Canal and conducting research in the fields of economy, society, environment, culture and education.

The Italian students also turned what they have learned during the trip into various performances, such as martial arts and tai chi shows and a chorus of the famous Chinese song The Moon Represents My Heart.
