Zhang Tian, a student at the Nanjing Institute of Tourism and Hospitality in East China's Jiangsu province, sometimes finds it more stressful than enjoyable to select a proper gift for his girlfriend.

But not anymore. The young man, who is majoring in culinary arts, decided to start developing homemade lipstick.

He used fruit, wine, and food additives as the main ingredients, and added a touch of olive oil for extra moisture.

Zhang has developed two types of lipstick, one edible and the other for daily application. After opening, the two types of lipstick will be good for 15 days and one year, respectively.

The ambitious young man has set up a joint studio with his girlfriend, aiming to take advantage of China's prospering e-commerce industry.
