The Jiangsu-based Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) saw its Indian alumnus Fouzan Parkar awarded by the central Chinese city of Zhuzhou, Hunan province on May 9, for his efforts in urban development.
Along with eight other international nominees, Parkar stood out with his active role in exploring the Middle East market of a local company, while keeping himself positively engaged in various public good programs.
The 25-year-old Indian joined Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co in 2016, a subsidiary of the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation and specializes in polymer materials research and engineering applications.
Though fluent in Chinese, Parkar found himself having a lot to learn while adapting to the company's overseas marketing department and growing to be more professional.
He worked both in the back office and at the front line of the company to understand its business operations, and also learned Arabic and Persian to help the company expand its overseas markets in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, Turkey, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan.
