Jiangnan University provides Chinese culture lectures for foreign entrepreneurs

Jiangnan University, in Wuxi, Jiangsu provence, held the first lesson of Chinese language and culture lecture series for foreign businessmen on May 12, attracting about 20 to join in the class.

Sponsored by the Wuxi Service Center for foreign enterprises and the Jiangnan University School of International Education, the aim of the classes is to enhance their Chinese communicative competence and to learn about the city of Wuxi and China in general.

The series of classes will last from May to July, providing courses of Modern Chinese and Chinese paper-cutting by professors from the Jiangnan University School of International Education.

Introduction to lecturers

Hu Yuanyuan graduated with a master's degree in TCFL (Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language) from Nanjing Normal University and has served as the Dean of TCFL Teaching and Research Section of School of International Education, Jiangnan University since 2008. She takes a variety of courses and boasts rich experience in teaching. She has a lively, flexible, teaching style, which the students appreciate very much.

Zheng Ping graduated from the master's program of Modern Chinese in Beijing Normal University and a is a full-time Chinese teacher in the International Education School of Jiangnan University. She has been engaged in TCFL for over 12 years. She was once dispatched by Hanban to teach Chinese in Ca' Foscari of Venice, Italy for two years. Since 2012, she has given the Chinese paper-cutting course to overseas students learning in the International Education School of Jiangnan University. Her teaching style is very popular among overseas students.
