A signing ceremony to strengthen cooperation between Wuxi municipal government and Southeast University in Jiangsu province was held on March 6. 

The occasion also marked the 30th funding anniversary of Southeast University, Wuxi Branch. 

Li Xiaomin, Wuxi's Party secretary, and Zhang Guangjun, president of Southeast University attended the ceremony. 

As a prestigious Chinese university based in Nanjing city of East China's Jiangsu province, Southeast University will provide powerful technological and talent support, including the construction of several secondary colleges and scientific research platforms. 

In turn, Wuxi municipal government will offer a series of policy support to help the university to build a high level research university with international reputation, according to the agreement. 

“Wuxi is a national center for micro-electronics, as well as one of China's seven industrial centers for integrated circuit (IC) design. The IC industry, one of the most defining and competitive industries in Wuxi, is currently thriving. The establishment of School of Micro-electronics of Southeast University is beneficial to both sides,” said Li. 

According to Li, the cooperation between Wuxi municipal government and Southeast University will deepen the relationship in many areas and contribute greatly to the development of Southeast University, Wuxi Branch, and in the process provide more opportunities for students.
