Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST), an innovation-driven school based in Jiangsu, East China, is embracing a new wave of innovation.

Its continuous efforts to promote overseas education, especially for students from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has borne fruitful results in recent years, given the increasing number of overseas youngsters publishing Science Citation Index (SCI) papers.

At the 2nd Award Ceremony for NJUST International Students’ Academic Publication on Jan 10, a total of 23 students, all from BRI countries, were awarded for their science and technology theses being successfully included on the SCI database in 2017.

Nawishta Jabeen, a Pakistani doctoral student from NJUST’s School of Materials Science and Engineering, received the honor for the second time.

Her inspiration on developing a super-capacitor with high-energy and high-power densities while using cheap and environmental-friendly electrode materials has proved to have great market potential.

Nawishta’s first-authored thesis was hence published on the top international journal Advanced Materials and realized an impact factor of 19.79.
