Symphony and live comments: part of modern-day university opening ceremony

The teachers who organized the ceremony, who spent weeks preparing for the event, said the live comments system was a gift both for the students and for themselves.
“Our university has made history by using the live comments system. It’s an effective and quirky way to make the youngsters feel closer to the school,” said Zhang Baoling, a staff member at the student affairs office. “We received more than 5,000 live comments during the event.”
The WeChat comments system was not the only way CPU helped make the ceremony more fun for the students.
The event began with an elegant rendition of the school anthem and other classic songs by the school’s symphony orchestra.
