In fact, Professors Huang and Sun and their teams are just some of the people at the NUAA devoted to China’s aviation industry.

From the ARJ21, China’s first self-designed regional jet liner, to the C919, NUAAers have shouldered more than 140 development programs, taken part in multiple authentications of technical plans, and devoted themselves to the frontline of China’s civil aviation industry in leading companies like the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China.

Their major role in the country’s aviation industry may be attributed to the school’s continuous emphasis over the decades.

From Jiang Liping, chief engineer of the C919, to the hundreds of excellent graduates studying in aircraft-related majors every year, the NUAA has developed various ways to cultivate top talents, such as providing straightforward entrance to undergraduate and graduate students and inviting advanced scientists and engineering technicians to join the faculty.

The university’s graduates also express their gratitude and take pride in their alma mater’s development. “My campus life at NUAA opened a brand-new gate for me, and my son is also willing to pursue his studies at the university,” said Wu Guanghui, the C919’s chief designer.
