Mainland strengthens talent exchanges with HK, Macao

Zhu Weiguo, deputy director-general of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, spoke about the student exchange programs between Jiangsu and the two regions.
He said Jiangsu is among the popular destinations for Hong Kong and Macao students. Enrollment there in recent years has been steady at around 1,000. Popular majors include traditional Chinese medicine, clinical medical science, news media, computer science, economics, and history.
Zhu also mentioned Jiangsu’s dedication to promoting its educational image. Aside from regular faculty training and scientific cooperation, the province has also strengthened higher education connections with Macao and Portuguese-speaking countries, and paired up with several sister primary and middle schools.
Representatives from 11 renowned colleges such as the University of Hong Kong, the University of Macao, Peking University and Nanjing University shared their opinions on resource integration, major development, and brand building.
