The fifth forum on promoting non-government funded education in Jiangsu province took place at the Suining Jinghua School in Xuzhou on April 15 and 16.
The forum was organized by Jiangsu Education Association, along with getting strong support from Jiangsu Education Press Group, Jiangsu Educational Channel, and Chunyu Education Group.
Some 300 scholars, directors, and principals from private schools across the province were in attendance.
With the theme of “Making Reading a Curriculum”, the forum featured six reading classes presented by students studying at the primary, secondary, and senior high sectors of the school.
The attendees were also treated to various idea-sharing activities from prestigious professors, such as Xu Yan from Nanjing University who talked about the close ties between reading masterpieces and promoting a more literary atmosphere; and Gong Ruyun from Nanjing Normal University who discussed the role of interdisciplinary reading in helping develop key student competencies.
