Visitors to Nanjing’s Museum of Modern Art will be able to see what Jiangsu really looks like through the eyes of a foreigner after the opening of a photo exhibition entitled “Seeing Jiangsu from a Different Angle” on Feb 13.
The exhibition houses the fruits of a six-month competition for expats living and working in Jiangsu. Foreigners were encouraged to dust-off their cameras and get out and about in the province, snapping away.
Some 300 expats from 42 countries submitted 3,000 photos from which 145 were selected for the exhibition by the organizing committee.
Prizes were up for grabs for exemplary entries, including a grand prize, three first prizes, eight second prizes, and 15 third prizes. There were also 38 outstanding prizes and 80 photos which made the shortlist.
Many entries came from Yangzhou University’s population of overseas students who together submitted 44 photos.
Indian students An Zhi (Chinese name) and Deng Hai won third prizes for their works entitled Dongguan Night and Shangyuan Night.
