As a result of the momentous interest surrounding roller sports across the country, the Chinese Roller Sports Association released a list of ranked demonstration schools on Feb 4.

Three schools in Nanjing city, capital of Jiangsu province, were on the list—Yueyuan First Primary School, Yincheng Primary School, and Lotus Experimental School.

The schools have long conducted regular roller skating classes, hosted interest groups and have taken part in various shows and competitions.

As a nod to the recent rankings, the schools will seek to go a step further, making roller skating a required course and building up more professional training programs.

The schools will also enhance exchanges across the roller sports field, inviting more students to take part, and conducting more roller skating-themed activities.

As a world-wide popular sport, roller skating will be an event at the Olympic Games held in Tokyo in 2020. Nanjing, as a recently ranked world roller sports city, will spare no effort in making the sport a symbol of the city.
