Jiangsu university crowned national university volleyball champions

The Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST) men's volleyball team spiked their way to victory, winning the national championship in the final of 2016 China University Volleyball Association (CUVA) held in Wenchang, Hainan province on April 18.
The young team from Nanjing, capital of East China’s Jiangsu province, qualified for the final round after beating Hainan Normal University in the semi-final. In the final, NUIST won the championship by defeating Nanchang University from Jiangxi in three straight sets.
This was the first victory NUIST at the national-level competition after coming runners-up in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Since launched in 2006, CUVA has become the largest university student volleyball event in terms of scale and number of participants, aiming to enhance the volleyball level of university students and train high-quality sports talents.
