Chinese language program opens at Jiangnan University

Jiangnan University in Wuxi welcomed 60 students from more than 10 countries, who will join its Chinese language program this semester.
Some of the newcomers are relatives of international employees working in the city, who are eager to learn Chinese language and culture in their spare time. The program also included students from Belt and Road countries, who want to improve their language proficiency and advance their professional studies at the university.
The non-degree program has attracted lots of overseas students by offering them a raft of extracurricular activities such as field trips and cultural experience courses, according to the university’s School of International Education.
So far, the university has more than 300 overseas students, half of whom are degree students studying courses such as food science, bio-engineering, textiles and human science and the Internet of Things.
