Updated:2016-02-04

The city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province hosted a higher education graduate job fair on Jan 30 with 302 companies offered more than 5,500 posts.

Many high-tech enterprises exhibited at the fair in search for high-caliber personnel able to handle precision equipment. Also, traditional industries were on the lookout for graduates to help develop their Internet Plus e-commerce platforms.

Statistics show that there will be more than 7.7 million higher education graduates in the country in 2016, of which 5,000 are expected to be in Zhangjiagang. The city's human resource bureau is taking steps to provide multiple internship opportunities for graduates.

"We are making efforts to build a municipal university student entrepreneurship park," said Zhu Yuan, deputy director of the city’s talent center, adding, "Entrepreneurship is a source of increasing employment, and we will help more graduates start their own businesses which in turn will create more jobs for people."

In the future, the city will hold 11 annual graduate job fairs serving as important platforms for exchange between companies and would-be employees to attract more high-level people who can contribute to the city's industrial development.
