Jiangsu-Manchester Center for International Educational Development is one of the four overseas teacher training bases for the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education (JPDE). The center provides a unique opportunity for primary and secondary school teachers as well as school administrators from Jiangsu to exchange teaching resources, do research in education and teaching reforms and expand their professional knowledge.

Situated on a 3,000square-meter space, the center is located in southwest Manchester, only two kilometers away from the city center and 10-minute drive from University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University. Jiangsu-Manchester Center enjoys decent transportation network and, hence, is suitable for running a wide range of training programs as well as visits and research activities. 

Staffed with full-time professional faculty and a service team in fully-fledged facilities, the center is capable of meeting all necessary needs of trainees. In cooperation with the JPDE, the Bureau of Education in Manchester and the local universities, the center has so far hosted 18 study tour groups, which involved nearly 2,000 students from Jiangsu for summer and winter camps in the UK. It has also run training and academic exchange programs for approximately 1,500 English-language teachers, core subject teachers and school administrators, earning itself critical acclaim from both Chinese teachers and educational peers in the UK.
