The steel materials of Shagang Group in Zhangjiagang have been used in the construction of two world-class new ships, the world's largest 24,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit dual-fuel liquefied natural gas-powered container ship and the world's largest 100,000 cubic meter ultra-large ethane carrier, once again proving its robust capabilities.

The container ship uses Shagang's ship plates and low-residual-stress plates, while the ultra-large ethane carrier is built with 5Ni special steel developed by Shagang.
As the only domestic steel enterprise with two 5000 mm-wide, thick plate production lines and one 3500 mm-wide, plate production line, Shagang leads the nation in annual production of high-end marine steel.
With its national-level technology center, Shagang has achieved several breakthroughs in key technologies, including large-thickness crack arrest steel, various low-temperature marine steels, and large linear energy welding ship plates. Several high-end products have been applied on a large scale, supporting the green transformation and upgrading of China's shipbuilding and marine engineering equipment.
