As the 2026 May Day holiday approaches, Zhangjiagang has launched a rich lineup of local activities, including lakeside markets, temple fairs, exhibitions, performances and family fun.
Outdoor Leisure
Jiyang Lake transforms into a "lakeside fair" from April 30 to May 5, featuring camping, light meals, pet obstacle races, folk music and live sports screenings. Meanwhile, Splendor Mall will host a drone light show, a Dunhuang flying fairy show and a "tastes of Jiangsu" food market.
Culture & Heritage
The Shazhou Youhuang Cultural Park will hold a temple fair featuring martial arts, Hanfu parades, face-changing fire shows, band performances and over 50 stalls exhibiting intangible cultural heritage from April 29 to May 5.

Art & Exhibitions
Zhangjiagang City Library marks its 50th anniversary with a themed exhibition until May 31, while Zhangjiagang Art Gallery launches the eighth Jiangsu printmaking academy exhibition, displaying 118 printmaking works by local artists.
Public Performances
Fifteen public benefit performances will be held across business districts and scenic spots. Parent-child activities will include storytelling, tank model crafting, plant rubbing, Analects reading and a pottery workshop.
