The second stop of the Zhangjiagang Yangtze River Road Running League was held at Mingqing Garden in Yongxing village on April 19, with 500 runners gathered here to participate in a 10-kilometer scenic rural race.
Runners enjoyed dashing along the course that included landmarks such as Mingqing Garden, Zhangjiagang Bay, Yimujangtian Cafe, and Jiangwan Happy Valley, experiencing the beauty of the countryside.
After the competition, Li Changduo, a runner from Changshu, was the first to cross the finish line. He said, "This is my first time in Yongxing village. The track was beautiful, with pastoral fields, river views, and ancient villages woven together. Every step was invigorating."
Outside the race, a local market event featured stalls like Yongxing village fragrant rice and Chaonan strawberries, attracting many visitors. The runners not only enjoyed the race but also had the chance to bring some taste of the countryside home.
