Xinghua city in East China's Jiangsu province inaugurated a platform called the Zero Entrepreneurship Space last year, offering preferential policies and value-added services to lower the barriers to entry and costs for startups.
The platform integrates full services such as administrative service consultations, entrepreneurship guidance and cluster registrations.
This helps make market access more convenient, take entrepreneurial costs lower and enable resource utilization to be more fully utilized.
Manufacturer Xinghua Eyou Robot Technology is one of the companies to have settled in the Zero Entrepreneurship Space of the Xinghua Science and Technology Innovation Center.
According to the company, the Xinghua local government's preferential policy of providing nearly 1,000 square meters of factory rent-free in the first year and halving the fees in the second and third years greatly reduced its costs.
The service venue of the platform now occupies over 2,000 sq m and the platform has helped more than 90 entrepreneurs save over 1 million yuan ($138,000) in entrepreneurial costs.
Moving forwards, plans are for the city to roll out the platform in 26 townships or sub-districts, further stimulating market vitality and the innovation and the entrepreneurship drive of social groups.
