The Xinghua Economic Development Zone, located in Xinghua city, East China's Jiangsu province, was recognized as a 2024 Jiangsu Rural Vitalization Demonstration Unit, in an announcement made at the 2024 Jiangsu Rural Industry Vitalization Forum, held in Nantong city on Oct 25.
Targeting the development of a large-scale health food industry cluster, the zone has in recent years attracted a group of top enterprises, such as Taizhou Anjoy Food and Kerisom Food Biotechnology, injecting development momentum for rural vitalization.
Leveraging the edge in the health food sector, the zone has improved its mechanism for coordinated urban-rural development. It has accelerated the integration of the primary and secondary industries and accelerated the construction of the modern food industry supply chain.
By expanding sales channels for agricultural products and increasing the added value of agricultural and sideline products, the zone has moved to provide more job opportunities for rural people.
Driven by the thriving development of the health food industry, the employment and entrepreneurship channels for farmers have been expanded. In turn, the improvement of the intensive utilization of collective land and the scale of planting and breeding industries have provided guarantees for the supply of raw materials for health food enterprises.
