The Xinghua Economic Development Zone – located in Lincheng sub-district of Xinghua city, in East China's Jiangsu province – has been advancing the high-quality construction of rural roads to promote rural vitalization and drive regional development.
From 2018-2020, the EDZ invested nearly 158 million yuan ($22.04 million) to upgrade major rural roads under its jurisdiction, including the Tanglin Line, Kaichuang Road and the Xingtang Line. That's been in response to the development needs of the merging development of it and Lincheng sub-district.
Dedicated efforts have also made by the EDZ to further eliminate safety hazards, improve the quality of roads and maintain rural road conditions.
Over the past three years, a total of about 32 million yuan has been invested to maintain the integrity of roads and their facilities, ensuring driving safety, comfort and smoothness.
In addition, the EDZ has been scaling up the integrated development of rural roads and industries.
Taking the Tanglin Line as an example, it covers a total length of 13.6 kilometers, with seven villages along the line. The line serves eight planting and breeding bases and 36 business enterprises, facilitating the sales of agricultural and sideline products and the transportation of goods for businesses.
