The city of Xinghua – located in East China's Jiangsu province – held a conference on the high-quality development of its foundry and casting industry on June 22.
Among the hot topics covered were the sector's transformation and upgrading and adapting business enterprises in the face of change.
Those attending included representatives from the city's bureau of ecology and environment, the bureau of emergency management, Dainan town, the Xinghua Economic Development Zone, Chenbao town and Xinghua Jianda Casting Co Ltd, among others.
Senior officials from the Xinghua EDZ said that the zone would retain a strong sense of responsibility and be right on mission to carry out the necessary work and improvements.
The Xinghua EDZ will guide 13 benchmark businesses to develop restructuring and improvement plans. Moreover, it will assist 35 enterprises whose adjustments meet its standards in completing procedures as soon as possible, as well as negotiate and sign shutdowns and exit commitment letters with six enterprises.
There are also plans for the zone to build an 80.1 mu (5.34 hectare) foundry industry park – asking business enterprises for their design needs and promoting the centralized entry of 13 enterprises into the park.
The zone will develop rent incentives for the factory buildings of enterprises that settle in the park, in a bid to attract more industry-related companies.
