The Xinghua Center of Materials Academy, Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, or JITRI, recently started operating.
The center was co-built by Materials Academy, JITRI, the Taizhou Industrial Technology Research Institute and Xinghua city, located in East China's Jiangsu province.
It will establish a full-chain innovation system from basic research, technological development, pilot testing and industrial applications.
The facility will also create a comprehensive innovation base that integrates research and development incubations, the commercialization of discoveries and achievements and enterprise services.
Led by academicians, the center's core team will be composed of top experts and young researchers from at home and abroad, with its members having expertise in high-end stainless steel, special alloys and other fields.
The center will focus on high-end stainless steel materials, biomedical materials, high-temperature alloy materials and more. It will strive to make breakthroughs in technologies and promote attracting and commercializing advanced achievements such as high-performance titanium alloy materials and short process preparations for stainless steel valves.
Over the next three years, plans are for the center to serve more than 100 local businesses, solve more than 30 technical needs of enterprises, and cultivate and incubate no less than six projects.
