A groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the planned Anfeng Town Foundry and New Material Industrial Park, to be located in Xinghua city, East China's Jiangsu province, took place on Sept 10.
The industrial park is regarded as being an important initiative for Anfeng town to create specialized industrial areas and to optimize its industrial infrastructure.
The foundry and new materials industrial park will cover 111 mu (7.4 hectares), occupying revitalized low-efficiency land. It will house a surface treatment center, production center, power center and business center to achieve the integration of production, residential quarters and a healthy ecosystem.

The industrial park has already attracted seven businesses, with the signing of three projects for phase one.
When the three projects are completed and start operating, it's estimated that 400 million yuan ($56.24 million) in annual invoiced sales will be generated.
To make it happen, a special project service team has been established to provide professional guidance, efficient assistance and complete process agency services for enterprises to settle in the park.
Overall, a total of 24 specialist industrial areas have so far been constructed in nine townships or industrial parks throughout Xinghua. The focus is on featured industries such as stainless-steel metal new materials, health foods and high-end equipment manufacturing.
