The 2nd Yangtze River Delta Foundry Conference took place on July 20-21 in Xinghua city, in East China's Jiangsu province, themed on green, intelligent and standardized practices and innovative development.
More than 400 representatives from universities, research institutions, associations and others in the Yangtze River Delta attended to explore new driving forces for fostering industry development.
Chen Fengjian, Party secretary of Xinghua, said that supportive policies in six areas of the city's foundry industry would be rolled out, including handling procedures, updating equipment and reducing rent.
Plans are for the city to double the scale of the foundry industry to 10 billion yuan ($1.37 billion) and pay over 500 million yuan in taxes by the end of 2026.
During the conference, an awards ceremony was held for the outstanding players in foundry technology in the province.
An unveiling ceremony for the new Jiangsu Foundry Society Science and Technology Service Station was also held.
In addition, the Jiangsu Foundry Society signed a cooperation agreement with Xinghua's precision casting industry park.
Xinghua is now home to 226 foundry companies and the annual output value of its casting industry topped 5 billion yuan in 2023, accounting for 5 percentage points of the city's total industrial output value.
