Xinghua city – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – has established five special service teams to help answer the needs of its local businesses.
It solved 627 problems raised by resident enterprises last year, realizing a completion rate of 96 percent by mid-January.
One grateful beneficiary is forged engineering components manufacturer Jiangsu Haiyu Machinery Co Ltd, which wanted to boost its output last year. Xinghua's service team helped the company add weak acid to its surface treatment process flow, resulting in an upgrade of its products.
That initiative – coupled with a new external ball cage component production line this year – means that the company is on course to double its output and sales in 2024 and post annual invoiced sales topping 200 million yuan ($27.97 million).
Out of the 627 requests for help from businesses, a third were related to land supply. In response, Xinghua proactively resolved the land use and historical legacy issues of manufacturers, and issued documents clarifying land classification and disposal criteria, helping a raft of companies to resolve their issues.
In addition, the city also continued its efforts in financial services and talent support. In 2023, it coordinated and resolved financing demands totaling 168 million yuan for 23 enterprises, lowered loan interest rates for 1,543 small and micro enterprises and granted policy funds of 34.5 million yuan.
Xinghua also organized for its enterprises to participate in 24 campus recruitment fairs, with 187 participating companies and 144 high-level job seekers with master's degrees and above introduced to each other.
