Seven companies in Xinghua city, administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province, were included in the new list of national "little giant" companies, which was released by the Industry and Information Technology Department of Jiangsu on July 14.
"Little giant" companies are those that focus on segmented markets and have strong innovation capabilities, high market shares, mastery of key core technologies, and excellent quality and efficiency.
In recent years, Xinghua city has taken the cultivation of "little giant" companies as its main focus in order to promote the high-quality development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
So far, the city has screened out over 100 companies with high potential and cultivated them. Through company visits, the city has learned about and then helped these companies solve operational difficulties.
Since the beginning of this year, Xinghua city has staged a raft of activities to assist companies in applying for qualifications to become "little giant" companies, including inviting experts to provide off-site diagnosis and holding policy briefings.
To date, Xinghua is home to 12 national "little giant" companies, 27 provincial-level "little giant" companies, and 273 innovative SMEs.
