A forum on gears and electric drives was held on March 3, organized by the China General Machinery Industry Association, in the Taixing High-tech Zone – located in Taixing city in East China's Jiangsu province – to conduct technical exchanges and to help boost business.
More than 50 participants attended, including experts, academics and business representatives.
Faced with the challenge that electric magnet motors will become a permanent substitute for gear-powered drives, the gear industry in China needs to transform and upgrade through continuous innovation, said Feng Guang, president of the gear and electric drive branch of the association.
In recent years, the zone has made efforts to support gear drives, electric drives and their segmented industries – and has promoted the arrival of a number of emerging, eco-friendly and smart projects.
Moving forwards, the zone is expected to use the forum as an opportunity to explore the transformation of intelligent manufacturing and aim to add more impetus to its high-quality development.
