Private enterprises in Taixing city in Jiangsu province have resolutely explored a green and low-carbon development path through technological innovation, energy-saving transformation and circular utilization and recycling.
As the largest pellet equipment manufacturer in China, manufacturer Jiangsu Hongda Special Steel Machinery Plant is committed to transforming itself through green development.
On the roof of the company's premises, rows of blue solar panels have been systematically arranged, to continuously convert photovoltaic energy into green and clean electricity.
At the start of last year, the company built a 1.37-megawatt solar power station which generates an average of 5,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per day.
The company then launched a second phase 3.78 mW solar power station, which has now been connected to the grid.
In the production workshop of Huierxin Machinery (Taixing), a set of thermal regeneration system equipment has been operating efficiently. As a result, the casting waste sand is converted into reusable recycled sand through the regeneration system.
With its goal of becoming a benchmark city for green development, Taixing has launched a special fund of 40 million yuan ($5.50 million) to galvanize the driving force behind enterprise transformations and upgrades.
Since the start of China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), the city has implemented 136 energy-saving and carbon reduction projects.
