Taixing city, situated in East China's Jiangsu province, has been promoting the development of solar power to add green momentum to its high-quality development.

Currently, the city has rolled out 883,700 kilowatts of installed solar power capacity, with average daily power generation of nearly 1.88 million kilowatt-hours.

In Zhuwei village in Quxia town, a solar park project has been accelerating its build-out. On completion, it will utilize solar energy resources and water surface space in the region, combining solar power generation with fisheries aquaculture to form a composite industrial model of "water power generation and underwater aquaculture".

The projected annual power generation will come in at 13.84 million kWh, which will save about 4,600 metric tons of standard coal annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 11,400 tons.

Solar power has been listed by the National Energy Administration as one of the fastest growing and most promising renewable energy industries.

Responding to the country's green development strategy, Taixing has actively explored green and low-carbon paths in multiple dimensions and levels.

In 2024, the city's solar power generation hit 686 million kWh, a year-on-year increase of 158.97 percent and accounting for 6.22 percent of the city's total electricity consumption.
