Quxia soup dumplings flourish in Taixing city

Winter is the best time to eat soup dumplings and Quxia town, located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, boasts over 130 years of history of making superb crab soup dumplings, attracting many people from surrounding areas to taste the culinary treat.

Quxia soup dumplings feature a thin and smooth skin and the soup itself is like spring, thick but not greasy, with a simply delicious taste.

The technique behind making Quxia soup dumplings was selected in the fifth batch of intangible cultural heritage items in the province.

The making of soup dumplings requires main ingredients of flour, chicken and crab, and making the dish is now a mammoth endeavor. Over the years, Quxia town has become committed to developing the primary, secondary and tertiary industries that are coordinated with the soup dumpling economy.

In 2024, total sales of Quxia soup dumplings reached about 2.5 million, contributing to overall revenue of 157 million yuan ($21.68 million), providing jobs for more than 2,000 people in the town.
