As Spring Festival approaches, garden centers in Taixing city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, are ramping up their already bustling operations.
At the Lantai garden center, butterfly orchids are growing particularly well, with their elegant and remarkable shapes making them ever popular. Indeed, the manifold varieties of butterfly orchids can exceed 600, satisfying the almost infinite needs of consumers for home gardening.
A greenhouse with temperature and humidity control capabilities has been established in the garden center to ensure the growth of butterfly orchids in winter.
"I like to come here to buy some butterfly orchids before the Chinese New Year. They are very ornamental and are great gifts for friends and relatives," said local resident Guo Jiaoyan.
In addition to flowers, green plants are also a popular choice for folks.
In the Jinghan Horticultural Base, different varieties of green potted plants are neatly arranged in its greenhouse.
