In the first three quarters of the year, the disposable income of residents in Taixing city, administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province, hit 38,409 yuan ($5,393), an increase of 5.4 percent year-on-year.
The per capita disposable income of urban residents in the first three quarters reached 47,269 yuan, up 4.6 percent. The growth rate ranked Taixing second among the three county-level cities and three districts of Taizhou.
For rural residents, the per capita disposable income in the first three quarters reached 25,899 yuan, up 6.7 percent year-on-year. That number was 485.2 yuan higher than the average level of Taizhou.
Statistics showed that during the period, the per capita disposable income of rural residents in Taixing increased by 2.1 percentage points more than that of urban residents. As a result, the income ratio of urban and rural residents has narrowed from 1.86:1 in the same period last year to 1.83:1.
