The latest statistics showed that the county-level city of Taixing, under the jurisdiction of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – generated GDP of 25,650 yuan ($3,535) in the first six months, up 5.3 percent year-on-year.
The growth rate ranked second among the three county-level cities and three districts under Taizhou and was 0.1 percentage point higher than the average level of the prefecture-level city' territory. What's more, Taixing's urban-rural income ratio continued to shrink during the period, decreasing from 1.92:1 to 1.87:1.
Its per capita disposable income of urban residents came in at 31,776 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.3 percent.
More impressive, the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 16,999 yuan, representing for a hefty year-on-year increase of 7 percent.
