The developing food industry is under focus in Taixing – located in East China's Jiangsu province – with the city actively supporting the sector's advancement.

One of the players there is food manufacturer Jiangsu Chaoyue Agricultural Development Co Ltd, which currently has a production capacity of 20,000 metric tons of soy sauce braised food per year.

Hand torn chicken is a best-selling product of the company, with daily sales topping 2,000 items.

In a bid to further improve the intelligence level of its food processing, the company invested 258 million yuan ($35.49 million) to build its Phase II Chinese-style braised products plant, which began operating at the start of the year.

To help expand the food industry, the city's modern agricultural industrial park has established four major industrial clusters in the areas of braised food, fast food, pastry and fruit drinks.

Park resident Jiangsu Baihui Agricultural Development Co Ltd says it's increasing the integration, digitization, informatization and intelligent upgrading of key technologies and equipment for the deep processing of its pork, unlocking more economic value from its supplies of pigs.

Overall, the future trend of food development is seen as the high integration of food technology, biotechnology and information technology.

In Taixing, the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development has seized the opportunity to become a mecca of future food and it is striving to build the Bio-Fermentation and Future Food City of China.

Plans are underway for the city to cultivate over 40 large-scale food enterprises and achieve a production value of 25 billion yuan by 2026.
