From January to March, Taixing city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, completed the construction of 46 projects worth over 100 million yuan ($13.76 million) each, accounting for 57.5 percent of its annual construction schedule.
The Phase I soluble polysaccharide production plant to be operated by Jiangsu Haotai Biotechnology Co Ltd will soon go into production, which is projected to produce 10,000 metric tons of food additives annually.
Costing 520 million yuan, the plant will use special equipment to extract cellulose from plants and produce a high-end food additive – sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, which is used to improve the taste of food.
Elsewhere, a new composite materials production plant to be operated by Jiangsu Skyflon Composites Co Ltd is advancing its equipment installation.
Costing 510 million yuan, the production plant will have a floor space covering 35,000 square meters. On completion, it can produce 10 million sq m of photovoltaic packaging materials and 1.2 million sq m of high-performance fluorinated ethylene propylene films annually.
From January to May, Taixing started the construction of 36 new projects worth over 100 million yuan each, with a planned total investment of 8.28 billion yuan.
What's more, it also finished the construction of 46 projects worth over 100 million yuan each, with an actual completed investment of 12.72 billion yuan.
