Taixing city in Jiangsu province is making every effort to prepare for flood prevention and improve flood prevention capabilities.
In Sanyang village in the Yanling sub-district, flood prevention duty officers and village officials checked the water level of the river inside the gate on June 17.
The overall terrain of Sanyang village is low-lying and adjacent to Tianxing Port. When the water level rises, there's often waterlogging.
Sanyang has now identified risk points in advance, conducted pre-flood inspections, distributed flood prevention materials and arranged on-site flood prevention facilities in time for the flood season.
Gate stations along the Yangtze River are the main drivers for drainage in the city. Since the start of February, Taixing has carried out flood prevention inspections.
Towns along the river have improved their adaptability for flood prevention and boosted their rescue teams by revising flood prevention plans, strengthening inspections and conducting flood prevention drills.
In the face of the flood season, Taixing has established 20 emergency rescue teams, 10 water conservation engineering teams and one militia rescue team.
Eight large drainage vehicles in the city have been fully debugged, and the contents of 145 material warehouses in towns and villages have been counted.
