An agricultural and rural project construction boom is being experienced in Taixing city – administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – contributing much to bolstering agricultural modernization, increasing the remuneration of farmers and vitalizing the rural economy.
Since the start of the year, nine major agricultural and rural projects have started construction in the city and another 15 are yet to break ground.
What's more, last year some 40 Taixing agricultural and rural projects were officially recognized at the provincial level.
Concerted efforts have been made by Taixing to attract more high-quality projects to settle there. The investment promotions group in the Taixing modern agricultural industrial park, for one, has participated in a number of expos to showcase the city's agricultural resources and its investment environment.
Taixing is also highlighting the fact that the growth drivers for its resources are being coordinated to bring in more investment. The city's development zones are paired with local townships or sub-districts to expand their supply chains for projects, technology and funding based on the overall industrial supply chain.
Moreover, Taixing is said to attach great importance to the innovative transformation of traditional agricultural product processing.
With the support and guidance of the municipal government, for example, local food manufacturer Jiangsu Chaoyue Agricultural Development Co Ltd is said to have succeeded in expanding its production capacity and improving its product quality.
To help local farmers become prosperous, in the last three years over 80 percent of Taixing agricultural product processing businesses have worked with over 600 local cooperatives and over 1,000 family farms, driving a 20 percent increase in the per capita disposable income of farmers.
