On Jan 29, an online jobs fair started in Taixing – a county-level city administered by Taizhou, in East China's Jiangsu province – through a live webcast, attracting the participation of 30,000 people.
Zhao Xinyuan, director of the Taixing Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, led nine company speakers to release recruitment positions at the online fair.
Statistics showed that more than 920 resumes were sent in and over 570 people received preliminary employment offers this time around.
Overall, the employment picture is improving in the city. Its 80 key enterprises had returned to work and production before Jan 29. A large number of new projects had also been put into operation, causing the demand for labor to surge.
Taking Jiangsu Hongda Special Steel Machinery Plant Co Ltd as an example, its orders at hand currently stand at 1.05 billion yuan ($155.47 million).
During the Spring Festival, Taixing city undertook many measures to improve its recruitment services. It held employment assistance activities – including those online – and interpreted employment policies, released recruitment positions for enterprises and held 13 jobs fairs or service activities in total.
Later, another large jobs fair will be held on Feb 5, involving more than 160 enterprises that are offering over 10,000 positions. People can also participate by watching live streaming.
