The Yangtze River Ecological Corridor Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Taixing – a county-level city in East China's Jiangsu province – was recently honored as one of 10 provincial water conservation scenic areas in 2022.
The scenic area was Taizhou's only spot to receive such an honor last year.
Based on the shores of the Yangtze River, it runs from the Yangsi Port Gate in the north and goes to Liuwei Port in the south. It has a total length of about 12 kilometers and a planning area of 2.8 square kilometers, with 1.78 sq km of water that includes the river bank.
The scenic area contains a river bank, river embankment, river channel and support buildings.
There are many featured sites in the area, including the Taixing ecological civilization education base, Chunjiang Garden, a flower garden and a bird garden.
Previously, Taixing established two provincial water conservation scenic areas, called the Huangqiao Small South River Water Conservancy Scenic Area and the Madian Junction Water Conservancy Scenic Area.
