Taizhou – located in East China's Jiangsu province – held a citywide project construction review meeting on Aug 6.
During the meeting, the city recognized outstanding efforts in project development and innovation by awarding the "Flowing Red Flag" and "Outstanding Contribution Park" honors.
These were awarded to those who excelled in the "Four Dares" initiative – dare to act, dare to explore, dare to work and dare to innovate – in the first half of the year.
The recruitment team at Hailing Industrial Park in Hailing district, which was responsible for bringing in the China Electronics Corporation (CEC) Optics Valley of Eastern Smart Manufacturing Port project, was awarded the "Steed Prize" for its outstanding contributions to the initiative and project development.
The CEC Optics Valley project, with a total investment of 12 billion yuan ($1.68 billion) and a planned area of 1,062 mu (70.8 hectares), is one of its most significant undertakings.
In the first phase, with an investment of 3 billion yuan and a land area of 218 mu, the project aims to establish a cutting-edge industrial cluster focused on new materials – powered by core subsidiaries of China Electronics Corporation in sectors such as new energy, new materials and electronic information.
Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate 15 billion yuan in annual revenue and contribute 500 million yuan in taxes.
