Since the beginning of this year, Hailing district in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, has been promoting government investment projects to improve the efficiency of fund utilization and provide a more comfortable living environment for locals.

These projects include overhauling roads in disrepair to upgrade the district's transportation.

Among them, the aging Huayuan Road, approximately 300 meters long, has suffered issues such as poor drainage and damaged surfaces. Currently, the renovation of this road has commenced.

"The rainwater drainage pipes have been laid, replacing the original concrete pipes with ductile iron pipes and increasing the diameter by 100 millimeters to ensure smooth drainage," said Gao Lu, the Huayuan Road renovation project manager.

The renovation follows the existing conditions of Huayuan Road, covering an area of about 2,400 square meters with a total investment of 4 million yuan ($566,042).

"The testing and debugging of network functions involve collecting data on the types, weights, and user points of sorted waste," said Ding Jie, a staff member from Taizhou Yicheng Environmental Technology Corp.

This station integrates waste collection and zero-carbon recycling. Residents can earn points through green, low-carbon behaviors such as waste sorting and exchange these points for daily necessities.

This year, Hailing district has launched 35 new government investment projects covering nine areas, including urban road repair and construction, medical and convenience services, and urban management, with a total investment of 334 million yuan.
