Zhoudai village in Suchen town, located in Hailing district of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province, has imaginatively expanded the development channels of its collective economy.
This year, the village cooperated with a farming company to co-establish intelligent planting shelters to plant mushrooms.
In the village's shared mushroom factory, 13 plant cultivation shelters are now arranged and divided into two levels – with a simulated cold storage facility that can reduce materials consumption and utilize land resources.
The mushroom growing shelters are equipped with advanced control systems that can mimic the temperature and humidity required for various mushrooms to thrive in nature, forming an intelligent small-scale ecosystem.
Currently, the fresh mushroom pillow packaging assembly line launched by the shared mushroom factory can package over 10,000 boxes per day. The fresh mushrooms are then sold to markets across the country through the cold supply chain.
"We have now planted nearly 10 types of mushrooms and our orders are in short supply, "said Gang Hongfu, a technician at the factory, adding that the factory now had regular cooperative suppliers and had also expanded its sales channels through e-commerce platforms.
The village's mushroom planting project has adopted a net asset leasing operation, which can increase the income of villagers through labor and bring in a stable earnings stream of over 40,000 yuan ($5,618) to the village collective every year.
