At the construction site of a new energy industrial park – in the Hailing district of Taizhou, in East China's Jiangsu province – workers have been kept busy advancing things.
Phase I of a production plant, that will produce 200 gigawatts a year of solar module junction boxes, completed the capping of its main structure in January. Being funded by Sichuan Shidi New Energy Co Ltd, based in Southwest China's Sichuan province, the first stage is expected to undertake its fitting out in mid to late March.
A photovoltaic module junction box is a necessary component for connection and protection in a solar power generation system.
On completion, the company says the facility will be the world's biggest and most automated production plant for photovoltaic module junction boxes.
Elsewhere, a new independent energy storage power station for Zhongcheng Dayou Industrial Group Co Ltd – based in South China's Guangdong province – is scheduled to start construction on March 6.
With an investment of 1.5 billion yuan, the project received its filing certificate in December and recently completed necessary administrative procedures and approvals.

The company says it's set to be the first and biggest grid-side energy storage power station in Taizhou. It will be able to provide power auxiliary services – such as grid side peak shaving and frequency regulating – providing capacity leasing services for new energy investment enterprises.
It will also provide energy storage and sales services for industrial and commercial users.
Highlighting its new energy industry development track, Hailing is expected to focus on various fields in solar photovoltaic cells and components, power and energy storage batteries and in new energy equipment manufacturing.
