Taizhou's high-speed rail network has reached two key construction milestones, making steady progress toward stronger regional connectivity.
All box girder erection work has now been completed on the Taixing section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-Speed Railway. Meanwhile, construction on the main structure of the shield launching shaft for the Yangtze River tunnel on the Yancheng-Yixing High-Speed Railway has begun.
Stretching about 2,100 kilometers across Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Chongqing and Sichuan, the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu line is designed to accommodate speeds of up to 350 km/h. Around 52 kilometers of the route run through Taizhou, with two stations planned: Taizhou South and Huangqiao. The railway is expected to give a strong boost to high-quality integration across the Yangtze River Delta and is scheduled to open in 2027.
The Yancheng-Yixing High-Speed Railway runs along the north-south axis of Jiangsu province. The line, expected to be completed by 2030, will support more balanced regional development.
The two railways will intersect at Taizhou South Station. After both lines are fully operational, Taizhou is set to emerge as an important regional transport hub in the Yangtze River Delta.
