Taizhou is turning its vision of becoming a park city into a reality through the revitalization of waterfront public spaces.

The 80-kilometer-long ecological corridor along the Fenghuang River has fully transformed into an all-age-friendly space. Unique features such as a wisteria corridor, a smart running track, and a cultural wall showcasing the region's ancient salt transport history line the riverbanks, turning the area into a linear park full of scenic variety.

"We focus on the needs of the elderly and children while weaving in local cultural elements like plum blossoms and naval heritage," revealed Xia Yue from the landscaping division of the Taizhou Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau. "By revitalizing underused land and promoting urban renewal, we have built spaces close to nature that significantly enhance people's sense of happiness and fulfillment."

In recent years, Taizhou has reconstructed over 90 hectares of green space, converting idle lands and street corners into "pocket gardens" and vibrant community lounges. Whether it's seniors practicing tai chi at dawn, children playing games, or artists painting by the riverside, people of all ages are finding joy and inspiration in Taizhou's flourishing public spaces.
