Starting June 15, a new direct high-speed train service will be launched from Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province to Jinan city, capital of East China’s Shandong province.
The new route will also include a return service from Pingyuandong Railway Station in Dezhou city in Shandong province to Taizhou.
According to the Shanghai Civil Engineering Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China Railway Engineering Corporation, the national railway schedule will be updated on June 15 to enhance travel convenience and support economic and social development.
The new schedule introduces a daily direct train from Taizhou to Jinandong, designated as D2156/7. Key stops include Jiangdu, Gaoyou, Huaiandong, Guannan, Lianyungang, Lanshanxi, Rizhaoxi, Dongjiakou, Qingdaoxi, Qingdaojichang, Weifang, Zibo, Jinan, Jinanxi and Jinandong.
The return service, train D2155 from Pingyuandong to Taizhou, will stop at Qihe, Jinanxi, Jinan, Zibo, Weifang, Qingdaoxi, Lianyungang, Lianshui, Huaiandong, Gaoyou, Jiangdu and Taizhou.
"This new service offers more travel options to our residents," said a Taizhou Railway Station officer. Previously, traveling to cities like Qingdao, Weifang and Zibo required multiple transfers at Hai'an or Huaiandong. The new direct route, which includes several popular tourist destinations, is expected to be a great choice for travel enthusiasts.
