The first post-Spring Festival jobs fair opened at the Wanda Plaza on Feb 17 in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province, drawing many young hopefuls.
Playing host to 168 companies – including Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group and Great Wall Motor – it offered 3,576 positions in engineering, research, accounting and more, with an average monthly salary of 6,000 yuan ($833.85).
Over 2,000 attendees submitted 412 resumes. The fair also provided career guidance and policy consultations to promote talent retention and entrepreneurship in Taizhou.
Chang Yi, a recent graduate, was surprised by the opportunities. "Before coming here, I felt it would be hard to find a job without experience," she said. "But many companies were willing to give recent graduates a chance."
Xiao Wei, a personnel manager at Great Wall Motors, praised the fair's practicality and high-quality candidates.
The fair's integration into commercial districts is said to aid job hunting and also boosts a company's profile.
The municipal talent center plans to hold 10 more jobs fairs in different commercial districts. It's also launched online recruitment platforms and will host six live-streamed Top Enterprises and Talents Cloud Summits to further connect employers and job seekers.
