Jianhu-Xinghua Expressway opens to traffic

The Jianhu-Xinghua Expressway, linking Jianhu county in Yancheng city to the county-level city of Xinghua, administered by Taizhou city – both located in East China's Jiangsu province – opened on Feb 6, improving travel flows in the region immeasurably.

One beneficiary is Nanshan community's aquaculture operation, which covers more than 200 mu (about 13.33 hectares), producing over 40,000 kilograms of aquatic products annually, mostly for export.

The venture also houses companies making condiments and sports gear, with sales nationwide. The expressway's completion is widely said to benefit all.

Another fan of it is Yuan Huachang, who farms crabs and crayfish on more than 30 mu, selling most to Shanghai and Wuxi city in Jiangsu. He praises the expressway's convenience, saving time and costs.

The expressway will enhance traffic and boost Xinghua's economy, especially benefiting the Xinghua Economic Development Zone. It will reduce logistics costs and promote tourism in spots like the Qianduo scenic area.
